    Mr. Hill heads the intellectual property licensing and litigation practice of the firm, which focuses on patent, copyright and trademark matters.

    Most of Mr. Hill's federal practice experience has come in cases involving disputes of patent, copyright, trade secret and trademark rights, as well as related claims of unfair competition. However, he has also tried cases involving complex franchising and other business arrangements. He has extensive experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Hill has been a guest on the public television program Layman's Lawyer appearing as an expert on patent, copyright and trademark issues. He has served as intellectual property and counsel to a number of public and private companies, including BAA plc, Comverse Network Systems, Eclipsys Corporation, GE Medical Systems, Paradyne Networks, and Hooters of America.

    Mr. Hill oversees the licensing of millions of dollars worth of patents, copyrights and trademarks each year. Much of this licensing is on behalf of patent owners in dealings with major U.S. and foreign corporations. His litigation and licensing experience includes hundreds of different patents in diverse technical areas including electronics, computer software, health care and biotechnology.

    He is permanently admitted to practice and has practiced before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th, 10th, 11th and Federal Circuits. He is also permanently admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Georgia. In addition, he has practiced in a variety of federal courts throughout the United States, including trial courts in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

    In addition to a significant federal practice, Mr. Hill has represented clients with intellectual property and antitrust matters before a number of federal agencies, including the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the Department of Transportation.

    He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law, Nashville, TN, where he was awarded a place on the Vanderbilt National Moot Court Team; Vanderbilt Moot Court Board; Third Place, King and Spalding Moot Court Competition; Best Oral Advocate, National Health Law Moot Court Competition; Third Place, National Health Law Moot Court Competition. Prior to law school, he graduated from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy, with honors. His collegiate awards included Phi Beta Kappa; Presidentís Scholar; National Collegiate Champion, Cross-Examination Debate Association; Texas State Collegiate Debate Champion, Cross-Examination Debate Association; Study Abroad at University College, Oxford University; Awarded 1991 Most Outstanding Senior Student Award.
