Employers can claim refundable payroll tax credit for amounts paid to employees for paid emergency sick leave and emergency family and medical paid leave – up to a maximum amount equal to the maximum benefit amounts payable to employees.
The Secretary of Labor has been given authority to exempt health care providers and emergency responders.
