Scher Mendez is an attorney on the litigation team at Hill, Kertscher & Wharton, LLP. She works with clients on complex litigation matters, bringing experience in case strategy, legal research, discovery, motion practice, and pretrial litigation. Prior to joining HKW, Scher practiced at a leading Atlanta litigation firm, where she represented healthcare providers in medical malpractice matters.

Scher earned her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, where she participated in the Health Law Partnership (HeLP) Legal Services Clinic. As a student attorney, she represented low-income clients in health-related legal matters and worked alongside healthcare providers to address issues involving public benefits, housing rights, and education benefits. Scher is a CALI award recipient in Women’s Legal History. During her time at the GSU College of Law, she was also a graduate research assistant for the Atlanta Regional Collaborative for Health Improvement.

Scher earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgia State University, where she was named to both the President’s List and Dean’s List.

Scher is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia and is fluent in Spanish.
